A lot of people don’t even think about making vegetarian Thanksgiving recipes. When you’re putting together your Thanksgiving menu, it’s easy to default to the classics–TURKEY (of course turkey, right?), mashed potatoes, cranberries etc. But not everyone eats meat and choosing or requiring a special diet seems to be increasing more and more–whether it’s a vegetarian, a vegan, someone with an allergy, a pescetarian, or just someone who’s trying to eat less meat.
When you’re looking for holiday alternatives to turkey, you could go with Tofurkey (not my fave; see what I recommend instead). You don’t have to be that literal, though. As a vegetarian, I don’t expect there to be “turkey” of any kind. I just expect to be able to eat a meal. If that includes a vegetarian main, that’s awesome, but it may just be some really good sides.
Whether you’re looking to shake up the classics and add a little variety to your table this holiday meal, or you’ve got a vegetarian to feed, these vegetarian Thanksgiving recipes have you covered.
